Renewables for new builds and renovations
Solar, storage, heating and ventilation designed together and planned before the first fix.
Typical budget Over £100,000 A guide only. You get a fixed quote after the survey.
What it is
A new build or a major renovation is the best chance you will get to design a home’s energy properly. The roof, the walls and the services are all open, so solar panels, a battery, an EV charger, heating and ventilation can be planned as one system rather than added one at a time.
We start from your plans. We look at the roof for solar, find space for a battery and the inverter, plan the cable routes and any ducting, and size each part so it works with the others. You get one design and one quote.
How it works on site
We fit our work around your builder’s programme. First fix, the cables, ducts and brackets, goes in while the walls and ceilings are open. Second fix, the panels, units and controls, goes in near the end. Then we commission everything, test it and hand it over with a single pack of certificates and instructions.
New builds and the rest of our work
Everything we install for existing homes we can plan into a new build or renovation: solar panels, battery storage, EV charging, air conditioning and air-to-air heat pumps, wet or electric underfloor heating and MVHR ventilation. Designing them together from the start is simpler and costs less than retrofitting them later.
Pros and cons
Pros
- One design for every technology, so each part is sized to work with the others
- Cables, ducts and mounting points go in at the right stage, not chased in later
- Panels, batteries and chargers can be placed where they look and work best
- One team for the design, the installation and the handover
- Helps the project meet the building regulations for energy and ventilation
Cons
- It needs us involved early, ideally at the design stage, to get the full benefit
- The upfront cost is higher than a basic specification
- Each technology has to fit the building programme, so it needs coordinating with your builder
Who it suits
- Self builds and custom builds
- Extensions and loft conversions
- Deep renovations and whole-house refits
- Developers building a small number of homes
What is included in a Bespoke installation
- A review of your plans and a conversation about how you want to live in the house
- One design covering solar, battery storage, EV charging, air conditioning, heating and ventilation as needed
- First fix and second fix coordinated with your builder's programme
- Installation, commissioning and certification of every system we fit
- A single handover pack covering everything
Frequently asked questions
When should we get you involved?
As early as you can, ideally while the plans are being drawn. Roof layout, cable routes, plant space and duct runs are all far easier to get right on paper than on site.
Can you work with our builder or architect?
Yes. We work from your plans and fit our work around the build programme, so our first fix happens at the same time as the rest of the trades.
Do you only do the renewables, or the electrics too?
We design and install the systems themselves and the electrical work that connects them. We talk through the rest of the electrical scope at the survey.
